Settlement Document Consulting

Most settlement documents – e.g., settlement agreements, motions and supporting pleadings – are largely legal in nature, while others – e.g., class notices, proofs of claim, declarations and other pleadings prepared by claims administrator – are less so. To assist class counsel in obtaining preliminary and final approval of settlements, of plans of allocation and of plans of distribution, as well as of actual distributions, JNL offers consulting services in connection with settlement management matters contained in the following pleadings:

• Settlement agreements and exhibits thereto (e.g., preliminary approval orders, long form notices, summary/publishing notices, proof of claim forms, judgments);

• Preliminary approval motions, including memoranda of law and declarations in support;

• Status reports;

• Claims administrator and notice administrator declarations of compliance;

• Motions for final approval, including memoranda of law and declarations in support; and

• Motions for distribution of net settlement funds, including memoranda of law and declarations in support, as well as memoranda of law and declarations in support of claims administrator recommendations.
